"Lisa is an absolutely amazing and versatile photographer. I found her after researching a ton of photographers in the area, and I knew I wanted someone that could create amazing pictures even in the worst and rainy conditions. As it turned out, it rained on my wedding day and those were some of the best photos I have ever seen! She is so down to earth and made our engagement and wedding shoots so much fun and she makes it so easy to relax and be comfortable. We are using her for our Christmas card photos too! She really captures the memories of the moment, I was absolutely stunned at her creative talent and her awesome personality!"

"I am so grateful to Lisa for being such a big part of our wedding day. It POURED during our wedding and Lisa made it feel like the rain made my wedding even better. She and her assistant Brooke, faced the elements and delivered some of the most amazing shots that rival those I have seen on Pinterest or in wedding magazines. Lisa is so fun she feels like one of your best friends right there celebrating in your special day and the important days leading up. She was also such a breath of fresh air as things got hectic, she directed people efficiently and pleasantly. She was a HUGE help throughout the day. My husband and I cannot thank her enough! "

Baltimore Maryland Newborn Photography
My style is completely baby led and focused more on your family than on complicated setups or props. I keep things natural and authentic no props or unnatural poses. I always tell parents that my favorite photos of myself as a baby are the ones my parents are in. Yes, it’s fun to see what I looked like, but what matters more now is seeing my parents when they were young and everything was brand new. That’s why my newborn sessions focus on connection like holding your baby, snuggling on the couch, and documenting the beginning of your family’s story in a way that will actually mean something years from now!

My newborn sessions are cozy, simple, and very baby led. No unnatural poses or props or buckets. If you choose a studio session, my space has soft natural light and a relaxed vibe so you can relax a little while we photograph these early snuggly days with your baby. It’s a great option if you love the look of lifestyle newborn photography but your home isn’t the space you want photos in.

botanical bungalow photography studio
Located in Northern Baltimore County
My studio newborn sessions take place in my light and airy natural light studio in Northern Baltimore County.
This space is filled with tons of daylight from two large 8ft by 6ft bay windows; full of neutral tones, cozy textures, and real plants so everything feels calm and still for new parents and their babies. It’s designed to feel more like a relaxed living space than a traditional photography studio so families can settle in quickly and just focus on being together.
This is where I photograph newborn, maternity, family, and milestone sessions for families :)

Just a quick FYI about me. I’ve been photographing newborns for years, I’m a mom of five, and I also have a Master’s in School Counseling. All of that combined means babies don’t stress me out and parents usually feel pretty comfortable here! My sessions are baby-led and relaxed, and I attend photography conferences throughout the year so I can keep improving my skills and stay current on safety and posing.

Why are many newborn sessions done within the first two weeks?
Mainly because specific posed photography is more difficult once babies become more alert and active. But I do not do posed newborn photography. During the first couple of weeks, babies tend to sleep more deeply and curl naturally into those classic newborn poses, which also makes it safer to photograph them in that style. As babies get a little older, they’re usually more awake and wiggly, which is why so many posed photographers recommend scheduling earlier if you’re hoping for those very specific newborn images. Since I am baby-led, natural posing, and family focused I can photograph newborns up to 5 weeks old!
What if my baby won’t sleep during the session?
First, don’t stress about this, mainly because they are just babies being babies lol. The best part is that lifestyle newborn sessions don’t require your baby to be fully asleep the entire time. We take breaks whenever your baby needs them, whether that’s feeding, changing, or just a few extra minutes to snuggle to settle down.
Most newborn sessions don’t take the full time listed, but I always leave extra room in the schedule so we never have to rush if your baby needs time to settle.
I schedule newborn sessions for 2 hours because babies do their own thing and might need extra time to eat, diaper, or just snuggle. Getting babies comfortable enough to gently lay down for those solo photos can take a little patience, along with time for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and outfit changes.
It always helps to bring a pacifier (even if baby only takes it sometimes), extra formula or pumped milk, and anything that normally comforts your baby like a favorite swaddle or blanket. A full belly and a sleepy baby make everything easier, and we’ll move at your baby’s pace the entire time.

What should we wear?
For newborn sessions, simpler really is better. The more minimal and comfortable the outfits are, the more classic and timeless the photos end up feeling. You don’t have to get dressed up at all. Cozy, everyday pieces like soft sweaters, simple tops, casual slacks, or even jeans photograph beautifully in my space, especially when they’re in neutral or earthy tones.
Outfits like the ones shown here are a perfect example. Soft textures, light neutrals, and comfortable clothing keep the focus on your baby and your connection as a family instead of the clothes. When everything stays natural the photos feel warm, honest, and something you’ll still feel years from now.

Studio Newborn Session Pricing
Newborn sessions include access to my client closet for both baby and mom, so you’re welcome to use anything in the studio during your session.
You’ll notice that sessions are listed as “up to” a certain amount of time. Most sessions do not take the full time, but newborns run the schedule. The extra time is built in so we can pause for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, or anything baby needs to stay calm and comfortable.
Before your session, it helps to make sure baby has a full belly and a clean diaper so they’re as content as possible when we start. A relaxed, happy baby makes the whole experience smoother and helps us capture those peaceful newborn moments without rushing or forcing anything.

Home Newborn Sessions
Home Newborn Sessions
Home newborn photography is a really special way to document this season because it captures your life exactly as it is right now. Instead of a styled or posed environment, your photos take place in your home, where you’re actually living these early days. The nursery you put together, the couch you’ve been curled up on, the tiny in-between moments you don’t even realize you’ll miss later. It all becomes part of the story.
These sessions are also very relaxed. Everything happens at your pace, with breaks for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing your baby. This makes in-home newborn sessions a great option for families who want a low-stress experience while still getting beautiful, natural images.
Because my photography style focuses on natural light and real spaces, I want the final images to feel soft, honest, and personal. Every home is different, which means your photos won’t look like anyone else’s. If you’re obsessed with photos that feel less posed and more like real life, this is a meaningful way to document your baby’s first days!!!

Do I need to clean my house before the session?
You really only need to focus on 1–2 rooms. I’ll use the spaces with the best natural light (usually near windows) and I turn off overhead lights when I arrive. An easy trick is to just move any clutter into another room during the session. Doesn’t need to be perfect at all.

What if my home doesn’t get a lot of natural light?
I shoot all home sessions using natural light because that’s what gives my work that real relaxed feeling. When I arrive, I’ll walk through the house and find the best spots, usually wherever the windows are.
That being said, if your home has really dark walls, small rooms, or not a lot of window light, it can be harder to get that same bright, airy look you’re seeing in my portfolio. The photos can end up feeling darker depending on the natural light..
If you love the light, clean style but your home isn’t giving that, my studio is always an option. It’s set up specifically for this kind of look.
