I met Rachel and Nick at Kristin and Jose's wedding at Martin's East in 2015. During dinner I was able to sit down and talk with them all about how they knew a photographer in the area, Kelly Frazier Photography, who specializes in newborns and portraiture. From there we talked about our kids and everything else! So when they contacted me later in the year to photograph their May 1st wedding at the always gorgeous and photogenic Vandiver Inn in Havre de Grace Maryland I was SO excited to work with these two!! Because of them I've gained so many friends because I was able to befriend both Rachel and Nick as well as their newborn photographer Kelly who has been such a resource for me whenever I do studio or general portraiture!
On the morning of their wedding I left my house an hour and a half early, because from where I am I know it takes me about 45 minutes to get to the Vandiver Inn. Well, mother nature, always has a way of ruining plans because she down poured and unfortunately the state of Maryland decided that a Sunday, May 1st, was the best day to do major construction and road work on 95. Fortunately I did arrive on time and the ceremony was delayed to help wait for most of the guests to arrive. It was unfortunate because I know they really wanted to get married outside in the courtyard space near the gazebo, HOWEVER they got married in the back under the rustic pavilion with all of their family and friends and, can I honestly say that it was so positively wonderful and perfect. Everyone was so excited to see Rachel walk down the aisle including Nick, he was obviously the most excited!! Following the I do and the epic, romantic kiss the two made their way outside to the grounds of the Inn and we took family photos and photos of the new Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton. Luckily the rain held out and the party then started!! And was it a party!! It was everything you could imagine a fun time could be because everyone danced like it wasn't a Sunday and sang songs and there was even a dirty dancing moment when Rachel ran to Nick during the end of the song (you know the one at the end of the movie when Swayze picks up the girl and lifts her and it's amazing and epic!!).
Thank you both for trusting me with your photos!!!
