WEDDINGS + ENGAGEMENTS

I love being a wedding photographer and best of al I get to photograph some of the kindest most amazing people ever in gorgeous places! Also, I specialize in candid, photojournalistic story telling so I can capture their big day just as it happened so they can put the cell phone down and enjoy their wedding day.

LIFESTYLE + PORTRAITS

Portraits and lifestyle are my first loves in the photography field! I love meeting new people and capturing their stories through the lens of a camera so they can share for generations! I also love mentoring and working with other photographers to help them with their business and I'm always community over competition!

Racheal + Jereme // Pond View Farm

So, ironically enough I shared blog yesterday about shooting a friends wedding and I'm sharing ANOTHER today! It so happens that I ALSO went to school with Racheal at Loyola for School Counseling (like Sami) and we all knew each other.... WEIRDER STILL Racheal got married THE DAY AFTER Sami! How crazy! I remember when Racheal got engaged because she was talking to me about venues and deciding on when and what to do and because she and Jereme are just amazing, down to earth fun people they wanted to get married some place that would just be a fun party for all their friends and family. So, duh, she chose Pond View Farm, which is one of my FAVORITE venues because it is so laid back and ALL of my couples who have gotten married there have been those kind of people.

I also did a video for Racheal and Jereme and one of the most telling aspects that came from it was the maid of honor speech. Racheals friend Erin talked about how they are "best friend kind of people" meaning they just make friends everywhere they go. Their wedding REALLY reflected that because everyone who showed up, friends and family, was just SO EXCITED to see them get married. And the reception was OFF THE HOOK exciting, fun, and a little rowdy! One of the best parts about their wedding was their decision to do a first look before the ceremony. They really wanted to head to their cocktail hour to mingle with their friends and family after the ceremony instead of missing out to take formal portraits! Obviously this is all your choice and I have a ton of couples who choose to do their formals at that time, but the best reason to do a first look is so that there is no stress of a time constraint to get to your reception AND AND AND during that cocktail hour time, you can TOTALLY walk around and thank your guests INSTEAD of during dinner!

Legit, all the photos from Racheal and Jereme's wedding day show off what fun, kind, amazing people they are and its awesome that they found each other to share their lives!

Love you guys! Thanks for allowing me to capture this amazing day for you <3

How did you two meet? *

We went to school together in middle and high school but did not begin dating until after that, mutual friends and hang out spots in 2011. We dated 5 years before getting engaged and almost 7 before married.

When and how did the proposal happen?! *

November 24, 2016 Jereme remodeled a room in our house which became my favorite room- sun room overlooking the water. We were in that room in our sweat pants, drinking beers and listening to country music (totally us) after coming home from Thanksgiving dinner with our families. It was perfect.

What made you choose your wedding venue? *

Pond View Farm is AMAZING- absolutely beautiful and extremely accommodating. I wanted to barn/ classic look and as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to get married there.

What was the BEST part about your wedding? *

The vendors were all amazing- I could not have asked for anything more. Everyone i worked with was helpful, responsive, knowledgable, committed & treated me like a priority- every brides dream :)

What was the WORST part about your wedding?

None!

If you could offer ONE piece of advice to engaged couples planning a wedding, what would it be? *

Do a first look if you're considering it. It allows you that moment of alone time with your person with no one else around. Then you get to enjoy cocktail hour and not miss out of the party.
